Our Rivals Oklahoma writers are monitoring possible Oklahoma football target Ashdon Wnetrzak (Sierra Canyon).

Our Rivals Oklahoma writers saw OL Ashdon Wnetrzak in action in Texas recently and have this report:

Ashdon Wnetrzak was one of the standouts at the All-American Combine in San Antonio earlier this month, and it resulted in a wave of interest from several Power 5 schools. He already held an offer from Oregon but is now hearing from OU, Texas, Utah, Notre Dame, Penn State and others.

I’m frankly not surprised that he hasn’t picked up any offers from those schools just yet, because this is definitely the type of kid that a college coach probably wants to see with his own two eyes before pulling the trigger. Wnetrzak is 6-foot-8 and 340 pounds, and that listing might even be a bit conservative.

In terms of sheer surface area, he’s one of the largest human beings I’ve ever seen. He was on the Forty Acres for Texas’ junior day this past weekend, and tells me he’ll be at Oklahoma on Feb. 2.

I don’t know if Bill Bedenbaugh ends up offering him right off the bat given the Sooners’ standing with some of their current targets, but it is worth noting that Wnetrzak is a former high school teammate of Eugene Brooks, so he’ll effectively have two lead recruiters if he does pick up the OU offer.

Notre Dame football coaches heading to SoCal to see Noah Mikhail, Hayden Lowe, Brady Smigiel

Head coach Marcus Freeman and cornerbacks coach Mike Mickens are expected to stop by Bonita High in La Verne to check in on 2025 four-starLB target Noah Mikhail. The Irish hosted Mikhail on a visit last spring and are working to gain momentum in his recruitment against Alabama, Miami (Fla.), Ohio State, Oregon, Texas and USC.

Defensive coordinator Al Golden visited Mikhail on Friday.

Staying on the defensive side of the ball, Freeman and Mickens will visit 2025 DE target Hayden Lowe (Oaks Christian). Lowe is a four-star recruit and the No. 11 weakside defensive end in his class. Lowe received an offer from the Irish last May but hasn't shown further interest, with no visits to South Bend yet in his recruitment.

Freeman and Mickens also plan to watch 2026 four-star quarterback target Brady Smigiel throw at Newbury Park. Smigiel, the No. 13 overall player in the 2026 class, is the highest-ranked quarterback in the Rivals100. Smigiel is expected to attend Notre Dame's junior day on Saturday.

What type of player is Oregon State getting in WR Jordan Anderson?

Earlier on Tuesday, Oregon State landed a monster commitment from 2024 wide receiver prospect Jordan Anderson (Newport Harbor), ranked #71 overall nationally in the cycle.

Shortly after his commitment, our Rivals site BeaversEdge reached out to Rivals National Recruiting Director and West Coast expert Adam Gorney to get a breakdown of what Anderson will bring to the Beavers.

"Anderson has all the tools to be a special receiver at Oregon State. The four-star receiver has fantastic speed down the field, he has a knack to separate right at the end of his route to be wide open a lot of times and then he has fantastic concentration and hands to bring the ball in.

"There is a very real argument to make that he's the best receiver in California this recruiting cycle as his athletic and playmaking ability is sort of unmatched at the top."

Breaking news: Is Texas in play for Calabasas WR Aaron Butler? He says he'll sign tomorrow.

From our Rivals Texas insiders:

Calabasas (CA) wide receiver Aaron Butler confirmed with me today that Texas has now offered a scholarship. And he tells me he's planning on signing with a team on Friday so this one certainly still holds some intrigue.

This one's really tough to read, and it's not just me. In talking to different people today, nobody seems to have a great read on what Butler's thinking, which seems to be the norm. Butler's a guy that only played half of his senior season so he could focus on preparing to play with Colorado, where he was a one-time commit, only to decommit from Colorado less than two weeks ago.

Texas, Arizona and Washington are all in play here. He did just take an Arizona official visit last weekend. Chatter from people out in Cali has some people close to Butler pushing for Washington, but things are still undecided. The plan is for Butler to sign with somebody tomorrow and enroll in January.

Why the late push from Texas? Obviously, there's a need at receiver. Also, Butler's a tremendous prospect on the field, with one person even saying he has some Xavier Worthy-like qualities with his frame and style of play. The 6-0, 170-pound Butler is a four-star prospect, checking in at No. 115 nationally in the Rivals.com rankings. He's never visited Texas before but one person told me today if there's a player that would commit to a school sight unseen, it's Butler.
