Bryan Bartley is the new boys’ basketball coach at West Ranch. He has coached on the East Coast and helped out as a scout last season for Heritage Christian.

Josh Beaty is leaving Fountain Valley to become the boys’ basketball coach at Edison.

Greg Fontenette is the new boys’ basketball coach at Valencia, replacing Bill Bedgood, who has retired. Fontenette was an assistant coach.

Lots of changes in the coaching ranks, thread 3

Tommy Leach has resigned as football coach at Jurupa Valley. He will be replaced by Cade Sparks, a former quarterback at Summit.

Carson Palmer is returning to high school to be the head football coach at Santa Margarita. He was a volunteer freshman quarterback coach for the Eagles last season when his son played quarterback for the team.

In another big coaching announcement, Malcolm Manuel has resigned after four years as football coach at Narbonne, which won the City Section Open Division championship but was also placed on probation and made ineligible for next season’s playoffs after seven ineligible players were discovered.

Stephen Barbee has resigned after seven years as football coach at Long Beach Poly. That opens one of the top public school coaching positions in the Southland.

Dave Ramos, the football coach at Schurr for 10 years, has resigned.

Garfield has named former quarterback Patrick Vargas as its replacement for Lorenzo Hernandez. Vargas served as the Bulldogs’ offensive coordinator, is a teacher on campus and has lots of support. He’s 33 and is getting his dream job after years of training under Hernandez.

Visit to Stanford went well for Pittsburg (CA) WR RJ Mosely but another program may still lead

A visit to Stanford went well over the weekend and three-star receiver RJ Mosley from Pittsburg, Calif., was told by the coaching staff about his opportunity to play early, which could be a major selling point.

But the word right now as Mosley gets ready for his June visits is that Arizona remains the team to beat in his recruitment.

Jeremiah King's game winning goal paces Mater Dei to a 10-9 win-5-17-25-Westview High School-San Diego, CA: In a Division III contest, the 3rd seed Crusaders of Mater Dei behind Jeremiah King's 4 goal performance hit the game winner as they won by a 10-9 score over the Caimans of Classical Academy.

For the Caimans at, T J winter led with 6 goals in the loss.

2 goals by Thomas Walsh 1 each by Landon and Dominic Cinzoni paces San Dieguito Academy to a 5-1 win over the Westview Wildcats-5-17-25-Westview High School-San Diego, CA: In a low scoring Division II title game which was played on the Wolverines home field the Mustangs of San Dieguito Academy after trailing 1-0 on Nick Slover's first and only goal in the first period of the game, but the San Dieguito offense came on as Thomas Walsh scored 2 goals with his first goal which tied the game at 1-1 and his second goal at 4:21 put the Mustangs up 5-1. Other Mustang contributors was Joshua Rausa 1 goal which put SDA up 2-1, brothers Dominic and Landon Cinzotti.

In the nets for San Dieguito Academy Logan Reynaga recorded 8 saves and for Westview Kaden Thakkar recorded 17 saves.

In today's game both schools broke a record for the lowest CIF Section Boys Lacrosse Final. Last time was in 2015 when LaCosta Canyon defeated Bishop's School by a 5-2 score.

Torrey Pines Falcons win 7th CIF Boys Division Title with a 13-8 win over LaCosta Canyon-Westview High School-5-17-25: For the Open Division CIF Boys Division Title after a 12-8 regular season victory, things went the same but when the Falcons of Torrey Pines High School clash against the Mavericks of LaCosta Canyon High School it's always a battle, still a good game as the Falcons won their 7th CIF Boys San Diego Section Title with a 13-8 win.
