At Section 7 for Day 2 there were a ton of coaches watching four-star 2025 forward Nik Khamenia and Harvard-Westlake

Per Rivals writers Matt Moreno and Tracy McDannald:

Tommy Lloyd (Arizona), Bill Self (Kansas), Mick Cronin (UCLA) and Kyle Smith (Stanford) are among the head coaches present.

Khamenia told Matt that his recruitment is “skyrocketing as of late,” coming off his experience winning a gold medal with USA Basketball at the FIBA U18 AmeriCup.

Two top Big Ten teams appear to be trending for four-star QB Troy Huhn (Mission Hills)

From our Rivals Penn State writing staff:

After spending time at Ohio State, Troy Huhn recently finished up a two-day visit at Penn State.

He is one of the Nittany Lions' top remaining quarterback targets at this point with Dia Bell and Brady Hart recently coming off the board. Texas was for a while a school that stood out to Huhn quite a bit, but the Longhorns landed their preferred target in Bell.

Oregon has extensive impressions after weekend visits from RB Jordon Davison (Mater Dei), LB Noah Mikhail (Bonita), and LB Josiah Sharma (Folsom)

Per our Rivals Oregon staff:

If you had asked me Friday, I would have listed Jordon Davison maybe fourth on the list. But then the top contender – Ohio State – took its second running back commitment over the weekend adding three-star running back Isiah West. A former Kentucky commit, West began looking around and decommitted from the Wildcats last month. I know that Ohio State folks still feel like Davison would come to a class with two other backs already committed, but that one will be a more difficult pull. Yes, Davison probably feels he could beat out both of the committed players, but a lot more goes into this than whether he would win the battle and it is not likely a coincidence that West committed while Davison was on his visit to Oregon and a week before Davison was set to make an official visit to Columbus.

Davison is a strong, versatile running back known for his ability to gain tough yards inside and make plays outside due to his speed and burst. He has excellent vision, makes decisive cuts, and is hard to bring down in one-on-one situations due to his contact balance. Davison is also a skilled receiver, capable of making plays from the backfield and the slot. Despite a lower body injury in his junior year, he has significant potential and projects as a high-level Power 4 prospect with NFL potential. He's an every-down back who excels in blocking and can handle various situations on the field.

The staff have done a fantastic job getting Davison back in the fold as a likely stop and it would not surprise me at all to start seeing some predictions roll in for Davison to Oregon in the near future.

Nothing has changed my opinion from Friday that Noah Mikhail is a strong Oregon lean at this point and nothing that happened this weekend did anything but strengthen that view. The staff have targeted him from early in the process and there is a reason that they wanted to wait for Mikhail to visit before accepting a commit from Mason Posa.

There is one last hurdle to clear as Mikhail is scheduled to visit Texas A&M next weekend. Mike Elko is another defensive minded head coach and that is going to appeal to Mikhail. Watch closely to see if that visit gets canceled. If it does, then I think we know what is coming shortly thereafter.

Even if he does visit A&M next weekend I think that Oregon has done everything in their power with Mikhail and have made up tremendous ground from early in the process when USC seemed like the early favorite. At the end of all of this, I do think Mikhail is going to pick Oregon.

As for Josiah Sharma, I will call this a tie for second place here as I think Sharma really loved everything about his visit. And the plan set out for him was something that impressed him. This is a battle between Oregon and Alabama at the moment. Alabama is only really in this because their head coach was at the University of Washington last year. I feel strongly that he stays on the West Coast and that is a good thing for Oregon.

He is the best pure defensive tackle on the west coast, and I think this is one of those battles that Dan Lanning wants to win and feels like he considers the entire west coast to be his backyard for recruiting. It would surprise me a little bit if Oregon lost this recruiting battle.

Here's some inside scoop from our Rivals Texas writers on Longhorn targets LB Madden Faraimo, OL John Mills, CB Trestin Castro, and LB Marco Jones.

Oklahoma is confident that it will soon get the commitment of QB Jaden O'Neal (Narbonne)

Per our Rivals Oklahoma staff:

We saw 2026 Rivals100 QB Jaden O'Neal at the Sooners' Elite Camp last week. What I have been able to surmise is that O'Neal and his recruitment seems to be coming to an end "sooners" rather than later. I won't dive too much more into it, but what I can tell you is that I still like my FutureCast pick.

I can also tell you that his final visit was to Ohio State and the other camps and unofficials have since been canceled. They are back home in California deliberating their next move, so stay tuned there. We will 100% have you all up-to-date on this recruitment.

Oh, and don't be shocked if O'Neal makes an appearance at the Party in the Palace and Sooners Under the Stars at the end of July. Just something to watch for.

Basketball scoop: 6-8 Christian Collins (Westchester-2026) has been contacted by UCLA and there are some dots that could connect

From Rivals UCLA writer Tracy McDannald:

Christian Collins acknowledged that he’s been contacted by the UCLA staff but at the moment his mother is helping him handle his recruitment so he and his mother have declined to offer any specifics.

But here’s what I do know about him:

He used to play at St. Bernard with the son of Bruins assistant coach Rod Palmer, who was always in attendance when UCLA wasn’t playing on the road. It’s the same team that had Tajh Ariza, who also is now at Westchester.

Both are now at Westchester because former St. Bernard head coach and ex-USC assistant Tony Bland is now back at the Division I level and an assistant at Washington.

Collins was among the standouts at the Pangos All-American camp recently.

A FutureCast prediction has been put in for LB Madden Faraimo (JSerra)

Per our Rivals Notre Dame site:

I am submitting FutureCasts in favor of Notre Dame for four-star linebacker Madden Faraimo. The intel coming off his official visit this past weekend was good, and I haven't found a good reason to hold off on this prediction.

There's long been a good feeling about how Notre Dame was connecting with Faraimo. After his first visit in June of last year, he became a priority for the Irish. And with each return visit, sources have indicated that Faraimo has become more interested in Notre Dame.

His last visit may have been enough to convince Faraimo that Notre Dame is where he needs to be. Even if Faraimo makes official visits to Ohio State and Texas in the coming weekends, I still think Notre Dame can pull this one off.

[Updated June 10] Texas and RB Jordon Davison (Mater Dei) have apparently parted ways. Here's how Texas is analysing why...

From our Rivals Texas staff:

Texas recruiting fans were thrown a bit of a curveball when Rivals.com’s Adam Gorney reported in his Rumor Mill column that the Longhorns were “all but eliminated” in the race for five-star running back Jordon Davison.

Texas had fallen behind Ohio State in that race … that much was known. But to find out the Longhorns were essentially non-factors for the Mater Dei product was an unexpected revelation.

In checking around on Monday, I think you can pretty much call time on this one as it relates to Texas. Word is that Davison is no longer considering Texas at all, but sources also indicated that it might have been the Longhorns who pulled the plug on this one and chose to focus their running back recruiting efforts elsewhere.

This might turn into a case of saving face ... “you can’t fire me, I quit!” ... but it doesn’t really matter in the end. What you need to know here is that Davison is now focused on four schools – Ohio State, Oregon, Alabama and Michigan.

For what it’s worth, I don’t believe there are hard feelings on either side, so it’s probably safe to label this one a sort of mutual parting of ways.

Here's Notre Dame's assessment of the visit of LB Madden Faraimo (JSerra)

Per our Rivals Notre Dame staff:

I’ve been pretty bullish on Notre Dame’s chances to land Madden Faraimo, and that was backed up again with what I’m hearing about how his official visit went. There’s growing confidence that Faraimo ends up in his class and a belief that the Irish lead.

My sources indicate Ohio State is the top competition for Faraimo, but I’ve seen some varying opinions on that. He’s set to visit Ohio State this coming weekend.

The latest we're hearing on WR Tavian McNair (Corona Centennial), DE Jerod Martin (Central Union), and TE Vander Ploog (Troy).

Per our Rivals Arizona State staff:

Corona (Calif.) Centennial wide receiver Tavian McNair is a teammate of ASU pledge Cory Butler and was expected to render his commitment last week as Butler did but is now expected to do so later this week. Now, he was scheduled to be in Utah this weekend, and that was unexpected, the best I can tell, and he still has a visit to Cal this weekend and Kansas the following weekend.

Will those visits change the path of his recruiting process? We’ll keep track of that. Right now, from what I know, he *should* be in the fold for ASU.

Here are a couple of other California prospects who I wouldn’t consider an ASU lean but have undoubtedly been very receptive to Arizona State.

DE Jerod Martin is perhaps the most coveted defensive end on the board for Arizona State. He was supposed to visit Cal this month, but not sure that did/will take place. But I do expect him to visit TCU this weekend, and I also do not expect him to make any decision before that visit. He’s a top 100 California prospect who hails from El Centro right off the I-8 60 miles west of Yuma. We’ll see if ASU wins the proximity battle because he would be an outstanding pickup.

TE Vander Ploog (Troy) is another prospect who is way high on ASU's list in his respective position group. He’s a four-star recruit and ranked No. 28 among California prospects. Already visited Washington and did have a good visit to Tempe. Utah, which he will visit this weekend, appears to be the toughest competition here, although he is scheduled to visit Cal this month, too.

Much like Martin not expecting him to decide after he has taken all of his visits.

2025 DE Hayden Lowe (Oaks Christian) sets up official visit for Oregon's upcoming big recruiting weekend of the 21st.

Per our Rivals Oregon staff:

While he is not visiting this weekend, Oregon has been able to schedule four-star edge Hayden Lowe for the weekend of the 21st. This will be the ‘big’ recruiting weekend for the Ducks so getting the Westlake Village (CA) star on campus that weekend is a massive win for the Ducks.

QB Brady Edmunds (Huntington Beach) was "absolutely impressive" at Ohio State camp & received an offer. Complete report inside.

From our Rivals Ohio Statestaff:

Ohio State is in the midst of a countrywide search to find its 2026 quarterback but after Thursday's camp it's possible that the Buckeyes have already found their 2027 passer.

Brady Edmunds, a 6-foot-5, 185-pound right-hander from Huntington Beach (Calif.) was absolutely impressive on Thursday. The ball jumps off his hand and he has a very clean, quick release and those skills were primary among the reasons he was offered by Chip Kelly on Thursday.

Beyond the physical tools, what struck me about Edmunds was just how comfortable in his own skin he is. That's rare for a young player just one year through high school, especially in a big place like Ohio State. That comfort is the result of camping in Columbus last year and this year and the budding relationship with Chip Kelly and Ryan Day.

Couple those connections with the confidence he has in his game and it's easy to see why Edmunds is worth paying attention to moving forward. So much in fact that I'd be surprised if he's not the Buckeyes 2027 quarterback.

Maybe not anytime real soon but the connection that has already grown, if it grows exponentially, it may be hard for any other team to beat. Edmunds grandfather is from Northeast Ohio and the family is full of Ohio State fans—ironic considering he's named at Tom Brady because his grandfather moved to the Boston area as a youngster and loves the Patriots—and that includes the young quarterback himself. When he was entering the eighth grade, Edmunds crafted a personal "to-do" list for himself that serves as the wallpaper on his phone.

There are 10 bullet points on that list and No. 7 on it is simple: commit to Ohio State.

Now he has that chance.

2026 LB Tristan Phillips (Ventura) and 2026 CB Jayden Crowder (Santa Margarita) also were impressive.

[Update on O'Neal!] Breaking News: Here are some football recruiting updates after weekend visits from CA prepsters to programs throughout the country

Per Rivals Oregon staff:

Josiah Sharma (Folsom) has locked in a visit for next week. After initially committing to Washington prior to Kalen DeBoer’s departure, the Ducks are making a push for Sharma. Texas is another team really pushing for the four-star out of Folsom (CA) High School. He has the kind of size (6-4, 320) that cannot be taught and a good skillset. I like where Oregon stands with Sharma right now.

Per Rivals Minnesota staff:

Gophers Nation has learned that offensive lineman Garrison Blank (Rocklin) has cancelled his official visit to Minnesota for June 14. The decision comes just days after the California native visited UCLA. We have FutureCasted Blank to land with the Bruins.

Per Rivals
Notre Dame staff:

Dylan Robinson’s (Bonita) recruitment is a bit unclear at this point. His first trip out to Notre Dame will come June 11-13 for his official visit, so it’s hard to feel really confident about a California recruit who hasn’t been to campus yet. There’s a sense that Washington may lead coming out of his official visit this past weekend. He’s scheduled to visit Utah this weekend.

Per Rivals
Oklahoma staff:

We will see 2026 four-star QB Jaden O’Neal (Narbonne) at camp as well. Was actually told that at youth camp yesterday when I spoke to a source about the QB situation in the afternoon.

The source also told OUinsider that O’Neal is one the Sooners “feel very confident about and think (OU) leads for.” I was told that if O’Neal was to choose OU on his visit, and while at camp, that the Sooners would “most definitely take it.”

So with what sources have led me to believe, and what I’ve heard through some other channels, I’m joining Steve Wiltfong in putting in a pick for Jaden O’Neal.

Seth Littrell seems to really love O’Neal, and you can tell that he is very picky about what QB is a fit. This will be an intriguing next week or two as we watch and see how the ‘26 QB sweepstakes unfolds.

Four-star CB LaRue Zamorano may be planning Nebraska OV this week

From our Rivals Nebraska staff:

Corona (Cali.) Centennial four-star cornerback LaRue Zamorano is "working through the details" of scheduling a Nebraska official visit for this weekend, June 7-9 he tells me. Zamorano is coming off a weekend OV to Michigan State and was originally scheduled to OV to USC this weekend but is replacing that visit with Nebraska.

He'll make official visits to Kansas and Washington later this month, Arizona's also working to get him on campus in the near future.

Zamorano was offered by Nebraska just last month, literally one week after he announced a top eight that didn't include Nebraska. Thanks to the effort of Evan Cooper and Tony White in recent weeks, the Huskers are firmly in the mix now and will look to further establish themselves as a contender this weekend.

Visit isn't set in stone just yet but I expect that to happen shortly.

Here's a report from our Texas Rivals staff on QB Troy Huhn's weekend visit

A couple of the big questions coming into the Elite camp still remain unanswered … would Texas get a QB commitment over the weekend? Which QB is the most likely to jump on board?

Texas currently has four QB offers out in the 2026 class, but it’s really looking like two guys are the leading options … Dia Bell and Troy Huhn. Both players were in Austin on Saturday, bot enjoyed the experience and both left town uncommitted.

Huhn, out of San Marcos (CA) Mission Hills, has been a regular visitor to the Texas campus over the last 12 months, with Saturday’s visit his fourth. Huhn was accompanied by his mother on this weekend’s visit and they both got some time with Sarkisian and AJ Milwee.

“I was able to sit down with Coach Sark and my mom. We had a great conversation,” Huhn said. “We had all of our questions answered and it really helped us. Coach Sark gave me some great advice and it will definitely stick with me through this process.”

The highlight of the visit, Huhn said was the conversations with the coaches.

“They are all great people and coaches,” Huhn said.

Huhn doesn’t have a formal list of favorites but said Texas is “up there.” He’s watching what other quarterbacks do and said any potential QB commitments could speed up his timeline. He’s planning to visit Clemson, Auburn, Michigan and Penn State this summer.

UCLA recruits get good news following Rivals rankings update this week

Per Tracy McDannald of BruinBlitz:

Oak Hills running back Karson Cox, who committed to the Bruins more than two weeks ago, was elevated from a high three-star ranking and picked up a fourth star.

Cox also moved up three spots in the position rankings and is now slotted at No. 25 nationally.

The latest update now gives UCLA a third four-star commit in the class, joining quarterback Madden Iamaleava and linebacker Weston Port.

Iamaleava was moved up 73 spots to 78th nationally among all players in Wednesday’s Rivals250 update.
