CARSON, Calif. - The CIF will begin the planning process of alternating the CIF State
Basketball Championships and CIF State Football Championship Bowl Games sites
beginning in 2015 in Northern and Southern California. This planned rotational
schedule will allow the student-athletes and fans, in all parts of the state, the opportunity
to share in the excitement of CIF Championship events.

Long Beach Poly senior standout Jordan Bell verbally committed to Oregon today,he will sign in the fall signing period,which begins tomorrow.

Pretty unfortunate things ended up the way they did for Taylor. A lot of it was obviously self-inflicted, but there's always time to turn things around. Let's all hope he finally GETS IT.

Brandon Randolph (Inglewood) decommitted from Wyoming a while ago and has been taking visits. He got an offer from Xavier on Tuesday and one from Cal State Northridge University yesterday. Odds are he'll take the Xavier offer.

After spending over $109,000 in attorney's fees, the CIF-SS reached an out of court settlement. Here's an excerpt of the LA Times article:


The Diocese of Orange and Santa Ana Mater Dei High have reached agreement in principle to settle a 2-year-old lawsuit against the CIF Southern Section that alleged unfair treatment and discrimination against Mater Dei athletes, attorney Jerome Jackson said Thursday.
A notice of settlement is expected to be filed Friday.
Jackson said his clients are satisfied that a change in attitude has occurred at the Southern Section office, citing the retirement of former commissioner Jim Staunton and the hiring of new Commissioner Rob Wigod.

The lawsuit was filed in 2010 after two transfer students, football player Todd Hunt and water polo player Jon Walters, were denied athletic eligibility at Mater Dei.

2013 Southern California Hoop Review[/B]

The 10th annual Southern California Hoop Review will be held Saturday and Sunday April 13th and 14th at Next Level Sports Complex in Garden Grove from 9 am to 9 pm each day. It will be open to teams from high school and AAU programs and individual players in all high school grades (including seniors). 80 teams will be entered in the number one non-live period event on the west coast.[/B]

The event is designed to provide all players an opportunity to demonstrate their talents/skills in highly competitive games for the college coaches, scouts, and media expected to attend. A report on the event will be done by the Hoop Review scouting service that will be sent to college coaches and various internet sites.[/B]
