No longer the Inland division D2 has a new look and feel to it. gone is the evil empire, CC and the big 8 and the Sierra league. In comes the Foothill, Sunset, and the SCL.
The baseline is arguably the toughest public school league.
The new evil empire is Johnson and his MV diablos. Hart has plenty of talent and renews its rivalry w MV. Upland looks great on paper. They have one of the best players in the division in helinski and a big solid o line in front of him. The sunset moves up from D6 which it never belonged in the first place.

1. Mission Viejo - always ready and always with talent. hosts Liberty (Bakersfield)

2. Vista Murrieta - been real quiet in SW riverside this summer. VM is well coached and will compete for a title. opens the season next week @ Downey.

3. Upland - Talent abounds, have they attained chemistry? this team could make a big time for a title if it falls into place. opens the season with a sweet tooth. Knight (palmdale)

4. Hart - Are they the best team? White to Irwin for one more year. Welcome back to D2 guys. could this top 4 be the semifinalists? opens @ chino hills - this should be a great great game.

5. Chaparral - returns 13 starters and has one of the best o lines in the division. has Victor Valley to tune for next weeks show down w Tesoro.

6. Valencia - won their league last year then lost to league rival hart in the finals. back is stud saety jay jay Wilson - opens next week with a solid opponent - palmdale

7. Tesoro - also returns 13 starts from a playoff team a year ago. weeks 2 and 3 will tells us more. opens at la Mirada

8. Rancho Cucamonga - Rancho has to replace its entire secondary and their best DL graduated. The offense returns 4 potential D1 WR its 2 best RBs and its QB. That defense isn't the biggest, but its fast. opens at Trabuco Hills.

9. Great Oak - hard not to rank a team that returns 17 players at all its key positions. no longer does the third place from swl have to play a big 8 team in the first round. so lets see how this plays out. opens with Carlsbad.

10. Etiwanda - We think that Rohr has somewhat tamed the beast which are the Eagles. If that's the case, with all that talent, it could be a banner year for E hi. they do pose matchups problems for most teams. Although they might lose Keon Stephans for the first 5 games, they'll be fine. opens with Summit.

others:
Edison - plays CC*
Los Al - Paramount 9/5
Chino Hills - Hart
Huntington Beach

no kidding.

read there was a power outage and they stopped the game in the 4th quarter.
what a disappointing opener for Etiwanda. I thought they'd mercy summit.
no worries they get colton this week.
if they don't get it right vs colton, then they have a problem
