By David A. Willauer-Contributing Writer-Rancho Buena Vista High School-Vista, CA: After a 1-9 rebuilding record in 2015 under former Head Coach Wayne Gomes, Joe Meyer is ready to lead the Longhorns to a 2016 season

The Longhorns Offense have returned key players in various running back and returning positions. "At rb we have Anthony Bowman who will carry the football for us a lot along with Ace Roach who started for us at qb will be looking for key receivers to throw to this season in wide receivers Trent Horger and Noah Watson both stepped up for our squad during the summer." said Coach Joe Meyer.

"We returni receivers in Tony Morales and Jose Rivera who played JV last year I am looking forward for those individuals them to have a good year for us." said Coach Meyer

Our offensive line is going to be good as we return offensive guard in Anthony Escalante along with returning center in Daniel Molano and William Osterhouse at left tackle but has to work hard to be for the position." said Coach Meyer

"Defensively we return a lot from last year but our key number one player is Braxton Ranshaw who usually plays linebacker for us." said Meyer. "We also return Mike Ciri and Ray Velero in the linebacker spot who played well on JV squad last year and Alex Diverne and Ian McNeary and our staple corners will be Antonio Bowman. said Meyer.

Coach Joe Meyer on the 2016 schedule: We open up vs. Paloma Valley at home and they 're a good team and have skilled players we have to be ready to play a solid football and to play well."

Offensively the Longhorns will run the Power I formation along with a little of the spread and on defense a 3-4 defense and will let our linebackers totally run free.
