Georgia is heavily involved in the recruitment of Jordon Davison (Mater Dei) who is the No. 1 back in the country. One would have to feel Georgia’s pursuit of Nate Frazier could end up playing a big role in this recruitment. Should Frazier commit to Georgia in the next couple of months, Davison will be able to pick Frazier’s brain on UGA while they’re Mater Dei teammates.

Davison has visited Georgia multiple times. 2025 wide receiver Marcus Harris, another Georgia target from Mater Dei, told UGASports recently that playing together at Georgia is something he and Davison discuss seriously. Georgia is in Davison’s top five schools, along with Alabama, Ohio State, Texas, and USC. The rising junior posted 1,514 rushing yards, 8.9 yards per carry, and 17 touchdowns as a sophomore.

The Oregon State Rivals' guys say:

"June official visitor Ashtin Kekahuna-Lopes has been a player that we've been tracking over the last few weeks, and while it is a quiet recruitment, we have received intel that makes us believe that Utah is the favorite right now in his recruitment.

We're not ready to put in a FutureCast for the Utes just yet. The Utes have sold their linebacker development well to the St. John Bosco standout, including how the development was successful for former Ute and first-round NFL Draft pick Devin Lloyd."

Illinois is first to offer 2026 wing Brannon Martinsen . As a freshman, Martinsen averaged 12.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists.

Martinsen played for Team WhyNot this summer on the Nike EYBL circuit. Last weekend at the Peach Jam, he posted 16 points and 8 rebounds per game. Martinsen will undoubtedly see an uptick in his recruitment in the coming months.

Per Rivals.com's Tracy McDannald:

Two-sport star Grant Gray chose to commit to UCLA because of the option to play both baseball and football. But there was a possibility that he would never make it to Westwood.

Any doubts were erased Tuesday, however, when Gray was not selected on the third and final day of the Major League Baseball first-year player draft.

Per Rivals Oregon staff writer:

"While in town, Mothudi got to meet former Duck Kayvon Thibodeaux and that really made a strong impression. I have said for quite a while that I thought he ultimately ends up at Oregon. Again, this weekend did nothing to dissuade me from that viewpoint.

Ducks are definitely on commit watch here, don’t be surprise if Mothudi commits without a formal commit date set in advance. He could go that route, but this weekend seemed to solidify everything for him.

"The five-star Georgia commit just took a big visit to USC and the Trojans look like the biggest threat to flip him but trips back to Alabama and Ohio State are expected. He has always had a lot of interest in the Buckeyes, too. I get the sense he is leaning toward sticking with the Bulldogs but USC is pushing."

One of the latest NCAA rules that came up was a removal on the limit of official visits that a prospect can take. Prospects are still allowed one official per school unless a coaching change occurs.

The problem was that there was no change to the 56 official visits each school could use in a cycle.

Now that’s not an issue. The Division I Council on Friday approved an increase of official visits per school from 56 to 70. It’s not a permanent move and is in place for one year. Also, schools are still permitted to sign as many players as they want. As long as they stay under the 85-man scholarship limit.

Rivals National Recruiting Analyst Greg Smith says, "These are good moves for the sport big picture wise. There is one thing I’d warn prospects of. It still might not be the best idea in the majority of situations to take more than five official visits. There is only so much time for you to take these visits. Eventually they distract from your obligations for school and your high school team.

It’s nice to have as an option to take 10 official visits. That doesn’t mean you have to."

We just heard that big 6-9, 340 lb OL Ashdon Wnetrzak (Sierra Canyon) received his first Power 5 offer from Maryland on May 31. He was named the offensive MVP at The Arrival Camp, put on by KO Bros, earlier in May.

He also has an offer from UNLV and he said he has been in contact with USC and UCLA among others.

"I talked to multiple sources close to the elite tight end prospect this morning and was told that the Miami visit did indeed move the needle, but no source seemed to indicate that the Hurricanes had taken the lead. For those that have been following Mitchell's recruitment in recent weeks, the news of a Miami surge should come as no surprise, and I can say with relative authority that an NIL pitch is involved here.

However, Michael Hawkins and the crew have kept Mitchell's phone buzzing with OU propaganda, and this is a race in which OU fans simply have to trust that relationships and proximity will win out in the end. That's easier said than done, and I understand that.

For what it's worth, I'm also told Jeff Lebby is scheduled to converse with Davon and his father later this week. And to be honest, I don't believe that Mitchell would tell a reporter that Miami was his No. 1 school if that were true. In my interactions with him, he's never been the type of kid to lay his recruitment bare on the record. "Breland really does like the Oregon program and the staff a lot. Will it be enough to overcome the likes of Georgia and his hometown school USC? Those will both be difficult challenges. Lanning, Tosh Lupoi and Tony Tuioti have done tremendous work staying near the top for Breland and having him in town with Tionne Gray helped a lot with creating a vision of the two playing together.

I am not ready to call this for Oregon because there is a long time until signing day and elite defensive tackles are hard to find – especially on the west coast, so teams are going to keep pushing no matter what happens in the next few weeks. Oregon is going to be in this right up until the end and has positioned itself very well."

Ohio State offered Viliamu-Asa earlier than any other player in the Class of 2024 and has never stopped recruiting him. Viliamu-Asa's mother reportedly prefers that he pick Notre Dame and so it will be up to James Laurinaitis and Jim Knowles to show a clear reason why the Buckeyes program is a better fit on and off the field. USC shouldn't be dismissed here either and that combination of things has lessened optimism around his eventual decision but not eliminated it. The Buckeyes will make sure Viliamu-Asa and his family spend a good chunk of the weekend with J.T. Tuimoloau and his family.

Multiple Oregon State sources feel very good about the Beavers' chances to land the West Hils (CA) native when he does make that announcement. Abaijian visited Corvallis twice this month in a span of a week including one official visit. He has developed a strong relationship with Jim Michalczik which seems to have gone a long way in this recruitment.
