Our offense put on a nice drive to go up 21-7, which kept us in the game which gave our players momentum." "Alex Rico is a good player for Santana as did a good job of playing with a lot of composure but our defense played well against him with some big sacks and batting the ball down. Evan Thomas threw the ball 3 times in the first half while leading and for the game winning touchdown Grant Hall scored did a real nice job of reading his blocks."

Fallbrook will host the Mavericks of LaCosta Canyon next Friday night at 7:00 pm

Some Early Season Quick Thoughts On Norco, Beaumont, and Rancho Verde

Say it ain’t so, Norco…We knew it was going to be tough sledding for the Cougars this season…Did we know it would fall this low?..Outside of a date with Santiago on Sept. 8, I don’t see a game on the schedule in which they can be competitive…I can’t imagine what it’s like in that Coach’s office.

I’m keeping my eyes on Beaumont…They stomped San Jacinto and destroyed North…That’s a nice start…these Cougars won’t be challenged until league play where they open with back to back games vs. Yucaipa and Citrus Valley while closing with Cajon…So, we will know.

Coach Zomalt and season Two at Rancho Verde…Though I haven’t seen them play yet, reports I’m hearing are all positive…Schedule is a little soft and so is the Ivy League this season…Circle that week 10 game vs. Orange Vista on the calendar…Two good teams will slug it out that night.

Those are my quick thoughts. I welcome yours.

Julian Sayin and Mason Walsh key 2-0 Carlsbad Lancers in win over Mater Dei

By David Willauer-Contributing Writer-Swede Krcmar Stadium-Carlsbad High School-Carlsbad, CA: In a National Televised game that was on ESPN 2 and after a 29-6 victory over Inglewood last week once again the Carlsbad Lancers proved themselves again as they improved their record to 2-0 as they defeated the Mater Dei Crusaders 0-2 by a 48-14 score.

Carlsbad:

Running Back Mason Walsh scored on 3 touchdown runs of 6, 1 and 11 yards each with 58 yards rushing. qb Julian Sayin 128 yards passing threw 2 touchdown passes 1 of 9 yards to Will Cianfrini and the other for 7 yards to Griffin Rosenbloom and scored 1 touchdown run of 3 yards. Rushed the ball for 63 yards. Colton Thomas contributed a touchdown on a 19 yard interception.

Thadd MacNeill Carlsbad Head Football Coach: "You know we tried to execute our game plan our kids did a real nice job on the field tonight it was a good mix with our running and passing a pretty good mix early was please how we performed." Jordan and Julian are good nose kids that take turns running the ball when we want to get closer to the goal line they want to score so they're super hungry I give Mater Dei a lot of credit and they have a lot of talent

Julian Sayin starting qb: It was awesome that we got off to a fast start to be on ESPN is the greatest thing for me so I can showcase my football skills we take it one game at a time our practice confidence reps give us confidence going into the game It feels awesome going to Alabama I met coach Saban and was impressed with the campus so I can't wait to get out there.

Mater Dei Isaiah Cook scored the Crusaders first touchdown as he ran for a 67 yarder and teammate Surhaz Buncam caught a 45 yard pass reception from qb Tim Short.

Carlsbad will travel to Escondido as they will take on the Eagles of San Pasqual on the road next Friday night. Kickoff is 7:00 pm. Lets all give our prayers to San Pasqual head football coach who suffered a heart attack.

Week 1 Point Spreads...Is This Your Week To Join Us?

Alright, you've seen how this is done...Now it's time to give it a shot...I invite you to join us.
______________________________________________________________________________

Simple contest. You pick the winner of each high school game with the point spread included. The poster who picks the most games correctly wins the contest.
______________________________________________________________________________

Example: Norco is playing Centennial. Centennial is favored by 17 1/2 points. The line will look this way:

Centennial -17 1/2 Norco

If you choose Centennial. They must win by 18 points for you to win.
If you choose Norco. They must keep the game within 17 points for you to win.

Friday night, Centennial beats Norco 34-21. Centennial wins the game by 13 points therefore those that took Centennial get a loss in our contest; those that took Norco get a win.

The poster with the most wins is our Victor.
______________________________________________________________________________

What do you win? STARS. Since there is no money involved, we play for STARS! The poster with the most correct picks, wins that week's STAR.

The poster with the most STARS at the end of the season becomes our CHAMPION.
