All City Crew - Spring AAU 2013

Parker to Arizona

Parker Jackson-Carthwright, the talented junior point guard from Loyola, committed to Arizona earlier this afternoon. That is a huge commitment for Arizona, they targeted Parker early on and made him a priority and were around all summer and often throughout this high school season. They beat out UCLA among others.

PRESS RELEASE: ICEMEN BASKETBALL BEGINS 20TH YEAR

PRESS RELEASE ICEMEN BASKETBALL BEGINS 20TH SEASON

Icemen Basketball begins 20th year. Our first tryout is Monday, Feb 18th at 6:30pm-8:30pm at California Lutheran HS (Baxter Rd, Wildomar). Tryout is for all HS Athletes who are not in playoffs. We will have (4) elite teams this year. There is a one time Tryout fee of $10. That fee will be applied to monthly tuition ($75), if you're chosen for a team.

There will be two tryouts at Cal Lu (both on Monday, Feb 18 and Monday, Feb 25th). Schedule is Mondays at Cal Lutheran HS and Thursdays at Citrus Hill HS. (6:30-8:30pm) starting in March. If you do not make our teams, you can still workout and train with us. Partial Scholarships are available (limited). Icemen Basketball has helped over 64 players receive scholarships.

Coaches include: Tim Hatch (Citrus Hill), Respp Relatoris (Jurupa Hills), Ryon Rodgers (Citrus College), Matt Rhodes and Todd Malecki (Director). Referals below.

------------------------------------------------------------Coach Malecki is a hell of a basketball mind and person! So-Cal kids this is the aau program you should be playing for!!
Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
University of Alaska Anchorage

------------------------------------------------------------To all basketball families,
My name is James Rosser and I wanted to take a moment to express to you my profound and complete support of Coach Todd Malecki and his Icemen basketball program. We as a family have been in the Icemen program for almost 8 years. We started playing with Icemen back when our oldest son Matthew, now age 22, was a high school sophomore. Todd is first and foremost a teacher of the game. I appreciate the fact that he consistently reinforces fundamentals regardless if your new to basketball or have been playing for years. You will find no better advocate for your student athlete than Coach Malecki. His reputation in the basketball community is well known and he'll work tirelessly to get his guys on the radar of college coaches of all levels.

Our oldest son Matt was seen playing in a tournament for coach just prior to graduating his senior year. He was coming off minor knee surgery and hadn't gotten a lot of looks from colleges because of his rehab and recovery. Cal Poly Pomona coaches among others where in attendance and working with Todd, Matt was invited up for workouts and eventually signed a scholarship offer from the school. Our son not only recieved a quality education from a fantastic university, he was the starting point guard on Cal Poly Pomona's 2010 Division II National Championship Team. Matt has taken his basketball talents overseas, and he is now playing as a professional with the Philippine National Team.

We currently have our two younger son playing with Icemen. Brandon a high school senior and Jason a high school freshmen. B has become one of the best high school players in southern california and has received scholarship offers from universities from New York to California and plenty of states in between. This is primarily from his playing for Coach Malecki and Icemen.

In my opinion you can not find a better program than Icemen Basketball to give your child every opportunity to not only play but to excel at the next level!

Best Regards,
James Rosser

October 25, 2012
Just got this emailed yesterday. Very Humbling! My 3rd NBA Endorsement.

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing a Letter of Recommendation for my good friend, Todd Malecki and his Icemen Basketball program. I have known Coach Malecki since 2009, when he asked me to be a Guest Clinician, at one of his events. Over the years I've been able to observe his Workouts, Coaching Clinics and Showcases. I have found him to be completely professional, fiercely loyal, with an unbelievable quest for knowledge to get better as a coach. I have personally witnessed the Improvement of his players, including one of his current prospects, 6'10, Ryan Smith. With Coach Malecki's workouts Ryan has elevated his ability to the recruitment at the D1 Level.
Coach Malecki is a fantastic evaluator of players. He has the ability to marry the High School player to the right collegiate level. College and High School coaches feel comfortable and value his friendship and evaluations. As a player today in the hazy, often confusing recruiting world, you need an advocate like him. He tells you "what you need to hear, not always what you want to hear". You don't feel like there are hidden agendas or personal interests when you work with him. That is not always the case in today's game.
He is currently helping me with the Midway Carrier Clinic. I give him my full and total recommendation.

Sincerely, Don Casey

ELITE Skill Development Clinics with your Team Feb 22nd-24th

Jeremy Russotti and 1% CLUB Basketball training will be heading to SoCal Feb 22nd-24th. Jeremy will be conducting the skill development sessions for Dinos Trigons PANGOS JUNIOR-ALL AMERICAN CAMP at Redondo Beach High School on that saturday (Feb 23rd).

Jeremy will be available Friday, Feb 22nd to put on a team clinic if you wish to bring him in. He has a tentative clinic booked on Sunday , Feb 25th in San Diego but hasn't been fully confirmed (therefore that day may be open as well). Jeremy can potentially also do a clinic after Dinos Event Saturday evening. The cost will be very affordable - around $30-$35 per player for 2 hour clinic. But....a program must host and put on the event of course (no singles).
If you would like to book Jeremy, please email info@1percentclub.org, or call (707) 849-1212

Below are some videos of Jeremy training players such as Shabazz Muhammad, Jared Cunningham, Josh Akognon, etc.

CaliforniaPreps coverage for the Youth Showcase

Thanks for your patience - we'll soon be rolling out LOTS of coverage of the Valley Sports Foundation/Californiapreps.com Youth Showcase that was held last Sunday at El Camino Real high school.

We've had to wait to get the DVDs processed of all the games that Dave Rogahn was unable to see. He should be getting the DVDs tonight and will be viewing the games he missed. So we'll have game reports of 5 more games and Dave (our senior writer and expert statistician) will compile stats for every player as the basis of our player ratings, which are computed through Dave's unique formulas and based partly on the way the NBA draft camps compile ratings.

We'll also be picking all-star teams, players of the games for each team, all based on the stats plus non-stat factors (impact on the game, etc.).

I've processed all my action photos and will continue to put photo galleries online over the next few days. I tried to get at least one photo of every player.

Jack Pollon, showcase director, also has some thoughts on players he thought stood out and we'll have that article online soon.

Again, thanks to all current and new subscribers for your patience! And if you're not a subscriber, you gotta try our 7-day free trial to get a taste of what you're missing. Click on the link.
