By David A. Willauer-Contributing Writer-Escondido High School-Escondido, CA-9-9-23-In a well played contest that was held at Escondido High School the Eagles with some late heroics after trailing 24-21 14 points in the fourth on Dayton Tafoya 55 yard pass to Joshua Lorick and Amani Givens 66 yard run defeated the Palomar Comets by a 35-24 score.

Palomar Coach Joe Early: "We gave the game away today as how I'm upset in the way we performed on the field, El Camino popped the ball in the air and they took it to the house in the first half,in the second half we had a man to man coverage on them as we didn't follow up on tackling and didn't take it to the house so there are 14 points on 2 busted plays."

" We had opportunities by scoring on defense along with the personal fouls which hurt us which we defeated ourselves today but not to take anything away from El Camino we gave this game away When we led 24-21 I thought our squad was going to shut the game down or were going to win today it hard said Coach Early

" Our next opponent is College of the Canyons as we played Moorpark last week for a long road trip for our squad." said Coach Early

Palomar performers QB Clay Omohundro threw for 295 yards and 2 touchdown passes. Omarian Ireland led with 134 yards rushing Kyri Shoals in receptions 89 yards and 1 touchdown along with teammate Nate Washington 15 yards rushing and 1 touchdown.

Palomar falls to 1-1 and will take on College of the Canyons
