Golden Valley notches its first Foothill League win

In a tight game throughout, GV held off West Ranch to win its first Foothill League game, 47-45. Sophomore Jasmine Jefferson was the difference, coming off the bench to lead the Grizzlies.

Cool! The Signal reported Jefferson with 19 points and Meredith Mathis with 9, 8 rebounds, 6 steals, 6 assists and 4 blocks. I'm glad to see the girls able to notch one in league. Unfortunately, it is doubtful they will able to get enough wins to get to a playoff game.

We had Jefferson with 17 points and Mathis with 8 reb, 4 ast, 2 blk, 3 stl, 5 pts.

I kept stats once for a frosh football team and did ok, but if you have anything else to do but stats, it is easy to lose focus, or atleast it was for me. Appreciate the article anyways. I'm sure that will be the most complete write up anywhere for GV basketball this year. Thanks guys.
