Willauer-Contributing Writer-San Marcos High School-San Marcos, CA-Friday, March 26, 2021: In a key Avocado League football in a battle of undefeated titans the Carlsbad Lancers improves their record to 2-0 behind the 5 touchdown performance of Aiden Sayin who committed to the University of Pennsylvania,defeated the previously undefeated San Marcos Knights 2-1 by a 49-9 score.
Aiden Sayan threw for 199 yards while throwing TD passes of 39 yards to Norman Madero, 45 yards to Josh Davis, 10 yards to Mike Ryan, 11 yards to Tyler Nolte, ran on a 42 yard touchdown run. Brother Julian Sayan threw a 15 yarder to Maylo Norwood. Norman Madero led the Lancers with 119 yards rushing.

Willauer-Contributing Writer-Friday March 19, 2021-LaCosta Canyon High School-Carlsbad, CA-After a 2019 CIF San Diego Championship win with a wild and crazy 79-59 over the previously undefeated Bishop School Bishops from LaJolla that was held at Southewestern College in Chula Vista, to the 2020 COVID 19 virus that swept our nation, but in March of 2021 high school football season returned the "Miracle" El Camino Wildcats behind the running performance of Noah Sega as he carried the ball 13 carries for 198 yards scored 2 touchdown runs of 39, 42, QB Kiah Reed threw for 213 yards including 3 to Jacob Gathright 52, 43 and 38 yards (3 receptions for 123) defeated the Mavericks of LaCosta Canyon on LCC's home field by a 48-13 score.

El Camino Head Coach Matt Hobbs: " We have worked hard our kids have fought for a year now wanting to get back on the field I give credit to LCC they came out battling us we have some guys that made some plays we made mistakes on both offense and defense after LCC scored 2 touchdowns in the air."

The Mavericks at 0-2 scored their touchdown on passes by qb's Connor Annicharico 6 completions for 38 yards threw a touchdown pass of 15 yards to Brock Davies 4 receptions for 30 and backup qb Jack Gerrity 3 for 3 with 73 yards threw a 27 yard touchdown pass to Jake Fromm.

With the win the Wildcats of El Camino improve to 2-0 will host Torrey Pines while Lacosta Canyon will be at Oceanside next Friday (both games) at 7:00 pm

Fallbrook Warriors snap 16 game losing streak with 36-0 victory over Classical Academy Caimens

Willauer-Warriors Stadium-Fallbrook High School-Fallbrook, CA: In 2015 was the last time the Warriors of Fallbrook recorded their last winning season and fell short to the Bucs of Mission Bay High School. After that the Fallbrook Football squad had 4 straight losing seasons the last the Warriors had winless seasons were in 1936, 1944, 1957, 1958, 1973 and 2019
Fallbrook High made history last Friday on the Warriors Stadium Astroturf as snapped their 16 game losing streak by defeating the Caimans of Classical Academy by a 36-0 score for Troy Everhart's first win as head coach.

"Our defense did an outstanding job had a couple breakdowns for the first game overall we created disruptions getting in our opponents offense line but I was happy with how our kids played today."

Trey Bradford and Evan Vanderhei key San Marcos to 9-7 win on 2021 Opening Day Football

By David A. Willauer-Contributing Writer-3-12-21-After a long wait with the COVID along with a lot of anticipation high school sports has finally opened up for the season. For football it was a close game to the end as the Knights of San Marcos battled the Mavericks of Lacosta Canyon.

The Knights got on the board as Trey Bradford ran a 34 yard interception pick 6 for a touchdown as they led 6-0 with the PAT No Good. Lacosta Canyon went ahead 7-6 as QB Ethan Warnock ran a 5 yard touchdown run with the PAT good.

San Marcos regained the lead at 9-7 as Evan Vanderhei connected on a 34 yard field goal as their record goes to 1-0 will host the Islanders of Coronado in a non league contest while the Mavericks of LaCosta Canyon fall to 0-1 as they host the defending CIF San Diego Section Champion El Camino Wildcats.
