Dont know much about Sierra Canyon but that they are a private school and have done very well in Football and Basketball since the schools conception. They obviously have a great coaching staff and a ton of talent.

I'm not sure Sierra Canyon is a public school, located in Chatsworth would make them a City Section boundary school if public. All the LA and surrounding areas privates are thrust into the Southern Section

First of all the schools inception was back in the 1970's as a summer school/camp.

It has ALWAYS been a PRIVATE SCHOOL.

And in football with all that not even close to CC.

This is just another private school recruiting athletes trying to model themselves after MD and the Trinity schools. Grace Brethren is trying the same thing.

A day camp is not a school, it didn't actually become a high school until 2005

I never said it was a newer public school, but being labeled a newer private school would be accurate

Sierra Canyon is a top school for basketball. They are becoming good in football with a state title a few years ago and now this CIF Title. You can make an argument they can be considered with Oaks Christian and other such schools for the top athletic program among the private schools in that area.
