Who's for real and who's not.
Always seems tobe that one team who surprises.
Who's it going to be this year?

Baseline: Toughest league in the division week in and week out. No more Alta Loma gimmie wins this year.

Upland - has a potent offense, can the defense keep up.
Chino Hills - also with a potent offense. Uplands defense is better
Rancho Cucamonga - no guarantee for third place. RC has been nothing but inconsistent. Better get that defense shored up for league.
Etiwanda - wins have been against bad teams. surprised they didn't show up vs Heritage. Has Osos week 1. If E Hi doesn't beat Osos, all bets are off for their season.
Los Osos - Finally healthy. LO will compete for a third place spot. Week 1 of league is crucial for the Grizz.
Damien - blow out wins or loses to teams they shouldn't lose to. esp for a private school. Drew Upland week 1 in league..ouch.

Foothill - 2 good teams, 1 ok team and 3 bad teams make for a Hart / Valencia show down.

Hart - if defense can shut down Valencia's offense it has a shot to win league. Hart has too many offensive weapons.
Valencia - see Hart. Valencia will be 3-0 in league before it sees a decent team in canyon. otherwise blow out city each week.
Canyon - needs to beat Saugus for third
Saugus - has an outside shot of beating canyon
Golden Valley - week 9 showdown with West Ranch for 4th
West Ranch - will this be the year they get their first ever league win?

Southcoast - will it be a 3 team race for the title or is MV sandbagging. Tesoro is for real.

Tesoro - has el toro to open league, then Mission Viejo - we'll know pretty quick if Tesoro wins league
Mission Viejo - Surprisingly not the typical MV team? Grand daddy ball? week 2 in league will tell us a lot.
El Toro - were beat by CDM and squeaked out a win vs Trabuco Hills. wild card team here.
San Juan Hills - just not enough depth to compete...yet
Dana Hills - they need to be moved down

Southwestern - Is this the year Vista Murrieta is over taken? Can Great Oak finally get over the hump?

Vista Murrieta - not quite sold on VM yet. Week 1 vs Great Oak will give us insight into both teams. Too bad game is at VM.
Great Oak - were killed by rancho verde, had a close win over King. Can this team get over the hump ? we'll know this week.
Chaparral - so much promise - hype - for this year. 4 straight losses, whats going on with the offense? tough non league to prep for a league title run? opens league with TV
Murrieta Valley - beats Moorpark, loses to Elsinore..what gives?
Mesa - has a key win over palm springs..otherwise...
Temecula Valley - not a real good non league schedule, but has 4 wins. A win over Chappy would be a big wow

Sunset - we're thinking Edison / los al finally wins the league will it get league champ a seed? hmmm..

Edison - hasn't beaten anybody, but at least schedules MD and Servite. gets marina to start league - ouch
Los Al - don't over look FV. LA, too hasn't beaten anybody and just lost to Narbonne.
Fountain Valley Newport Harbor, and Huntington Beach round robin will determine third place. NHHS / FV finale takes third.
Marina - needs to be moved out.

We think El Toro gets one of the wild card spots. big question, who gets the last spot? 4th place Baseline not all that impressive, same as sunsets 4th. last wild card will be between RC, Los Osos, Etiwanda, Newport Harbor or Fountain Valley.

Upland's strength against the good teams has been it defense, not its offense, and the offense has been good.

Mater Dei and St. Bonnie needed a LOT of help from the refs to get any yards at all.
