Bryan Bartley is the new boys’ basketball coach at West Ranch. He has coached on the East Coast and helped out as a scout last season for Heritage Christian.

Josh Beaty is leaving Fountain Valley to become the boys’ basketball coach at Edison.

Greg Fontenette is the new boys’ basketball coach at Valencia, replacing Bill Bedgood, who has retired. Fontenette was an assistant coach.

Ray Barefield is leaving Rancho Christian to become an assistant basketball coach at Fresno State.

Tony Bland has resigned as basketball coach and athletic director at St. Bernard to become associate head coach at Washington.

Bernard McCrumby has resigned as basketball coach at Gardena Serra.

Edmund Zozaya has resigned as basketball coach at Montebello.

After three years as an assistant basketball coach at Harvard-Westlake, Alex Lieu has accepted the position of head coach at Cathedral.

Kyle Kegley has resigned as basketball coach at Westlake.

Former West Ranch head coach Jeff Bryant is now the head coach at Palisades.

Darryl Carter is the new head coach at Burbank Burroughs. He was an assistant at Crespi.

Alex Agregado has been promoted from junior varsity to varsity head boys basketball coach at Don Lugo. She’s the first female boys head basketball coach at Don Lugo.

St. Bernard has hired former Gardena Serra basketball coach Bernard McCrumby as its new head coach. He’s a St. Bernard graduate.

Westlake has hired Curtis Allen to replace Kyle Kegley who stepped down in late April. Allen has 19 years of coaching experience and spent the last six years as an assistant coach at Pepperdine.

Jonathan Hughes is the new boys basketball coach at St. Margaret’s. He was the girls coach at Calvary Chapel. He replaces Chris Nordstrom, who remains a teacher at St. Margaret’s.

Former Palisades coach Donzell Hayes is the new basketball coach at Firebaugh. Monrovia has hired Alon Margalit to be the boys basketball coach.

Bosco Tech boys basketball coach Michael Romo has resigned. He guided the team to a Southern Section championship in 2023.

Former Taft basketball coach Derrick Taylor, who was supposed to be in his first season as coach at Gardena Serra, has resigned for health reasons. DeJon Frazier will be the interim coach.

Damaine Powell has resigned after four seasons as basketball coach at Loyola. He said he wants to take a break from coaching. Two of his sons will be Loyola students in the fall.

It opens a position that should receive lots of interest. Former Loyola basketball coach Jamal Adams is the new school president. The first choice would be former Loyola star Ryan Bailey, the head coach at Brentwood, but Bailey is unlikely to leave a school where he has family members attending and lots of top players returning.

Daniel Dunbar has resigned as basketball coach at Orange Lutheran.

Joe Khouzam has resigned as basketball coach at Walnut after 11 seasons as head coach.

Rolling Hills Prep basketball coach Harvey Kitani has sent off two of his assistants to become head coaches. Nephew Corey Kitani is the new head coach at Carson. Manasa Chanaiwa is returning to LACES to become head coach.

Michael Bertulfo has resigned as basketball coach at Murrieta Mesa.

Loyola has hired Cameron Joyce to be its basketball coach. He was head coach at St. Ignatius in Cleveland and is the son of Dru Joyce, who was the high school basketball coach for LeBron James.

I dug up an old photo from the Dream Classic, Mater Dei vs. Joyce's team, It shows LeBron blocking a shot by Harrison Schaen and #12 Joyce looking on. I assume that must be Cameron Joyce.
