A few observations from both days of regionals:
  1. Jordan Wilmore leads Lawndale over South Hills. The USC commit with 244 rushing yards and 3 scores in the win.
  2. Grace Brethren 28-14 win over Saint Augustine. That’s a very nice win for the Lancers over a good team from San Diego.
  3. Narbonne loses 24-21 at Cathedral Catholic. Jake Garcia’s comeback attempt was stopped by a Dons interception in the end zone with 9 seconds left.
  4. Sierra Canyon 7-3 Upland. The Trailblazers go on the road and win a defensive battle to advance to the state final. They are looking for their third state title since 2011. The Highlanders were without Washington commits RB Cameron Davis and WR Taj Davis.

Despite injuries to both Upland and Rancho Verde. CIF has D1- D4 all wrong. Very clear from the time I saw Sierra Canyon beat Citrus Hill.

The thing that stood out to me and I may be a little biased, but Christian Hunter going for 331 yards and 7 TDs against an Eisenhower defense that hadn't allowed a 100 yard rusher all season and putting Kaiser on his back in a 48-40 victory
