The game of the night featuring a pair of top 10 national teams by Maxpreps was won the top ranked Monarchs.
Shakobe Harper with 122 yards and 3 scores, Bryce Young with 296 passing yards and 2 touchdowns to lead Mater Dei to a 35-21 win over De La Salle tonight at Cerritos College. It is the Monarchs second consecutive Open Division State Title.
The Monarchs win puts them in strong contention to be the top ranked team in the country for the second straight year. Their competition for that top spot is the winner of the 6A Texas State Final on 12/22,an undefeated Allen and Houston North Shore are the two viable contenders for that spot.
