Here's some excerps we picked up from Eric Sondheimer, LA Times:

Daniel Barlage is the new football coach at Norco. He had been an assistant at Riverside City College.

Former L.A. Roosevelt football coach Jose Casagran came out of retirement to become coach at Monrovia.

The Oxnard Unified School District had five openings for football coaches and announced all five Friday.

Hueneme is getting former Sherman Oaks Notre Dame offensive coordinator Jake Goossen-Brown, who won a Southern Section title as coach at Morro Bay and had the leading quarterback in the Mission League last season at Notre Dame.

Oxnard named alumnus Lonnie McCowan as its coach. He was an assistant coach at Ventura College.

Del Sol, a new school set to open, hired Hueneme assistant James Nelson, who played at Buena, Ventura College and Texas El Paso.

Channel Islands hired Rashad Dunn, who coached last season in Georgia.

Camarillo promoted offensive coordinator Nate Anderson, who was a top assistant to retiring Jack Willard.

Kyle Murphy is the new football coach at Garden Grove Pacifica.

Michael Nobles, who was an assistant at Dana Hills, is the new football coach at Santa Ana Saddleback.

At 83, John Tyree retired as football coach at Banning High in Banning. He won CIF Southern Section championships at Imperial High (1973) and Pasadena Muir (1989).
 
Bryan Robinson took over as the coach at Los Angeles University. The name is familiar in the City Section. His father, E.C., spent 20 years as coach at Locke, then went to University and guided the team to a City 3A title in 2008.

Kevin Encinas resigned as football coach at San Gabriel.

Joseph Harnett was recommended to be the next football coach at San Gabriel Gabrielino.
 
Lucas Mealy is the new football coach at La Mirada. He was the offensive coordinator at Orange.

An unrelated football note: defensive lineman T.A. Cunningham, who went to court to play football for Los Alamitos, left the school and moved to Florida.
 
Defensive coordinator Marcus Galan was promoted to football coach at San Gabriel. Fred Emmerson is the new football coach at Woodland Hills Taft. He was an assistant at Granada Hills Kennedy.

Former NFL quarterback Matt Moore is helping his former quarterback coach, Dean Herrington, at La Cañada Flintridge St. Francis as an assistant. Moore won a Super Bowl ring while coaching with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019 and prior to that coached at Newhall Hart HS.
 
Jake Knesel is the new football coach at Banning in the Inland Empire. He has coached at San Bernardino Arroyo Valley and Beaumont.
 
Brandon Manumaleuna is no longer head football coach at Leuzinger. He will be the offensive coordinator. The new coach is Alvin Steen
 
Here's some news from the Press Enterprise:

There were nearly two dozen coaching changes since the end of the 2022 season, with a handful of those being successful coaches looking to excel in new positions. The most talked about switch during the offseason was Chuck Chastain’s move from Norco to Roosevelt. Chastain has landed some notable transfers, including quarterback Bryan Wilson from Ayala, so the Mustangs will be looking for a top-half finish in the Big West Conference’s Upper Division.

The biggest coaching news of the offseason, however, was Coley Candaele’s decision to return to the sidelines at Vista Murrieta. Candaele founded the program in 2003, won 132 games over 13 seasons and led the program to seven section finals and one section championship. Candaele looks to bring the program back to its glory days when it had memorable battles with Centennial. It won’t happen overnight, but Candaele’s attention to detail and coaching savvy will get the Broncos headed in that direction.

Here's another one:

Anthony Jefferson resigned as football coach at Cathedral after two games. He had been head coach since 2018. Vince Jefferson (no relation) will be the interim coach. He was the team’s defensive coordinator.
 
Rick Pontious has resigned as football coach at Riverside Notre Dame. JV coach Cameron Abts will become the interim coach.
 
Mark Serve was fired as Westlake football coach last week during a bye week after the team went 1-4. Ellis Green was named interim coach. Serve was head coach for a little more than two seasons after being offensive coordinator at Sierra Canyon. He had to deal with the death of defensive end Julius Poppinga earlier this season.
 
Cathedral has named interim football coach Vince Jefferson its head coach for 2024 and Louie Zamora has resigned as football coach at California in Whittier.
 
Three more resignations as the season closes:

Dilan Clark has resigned at Pasadena, Adam Coleman has resigned at Burbank and Mario Robinson has resigned at Carpinteria.
 
Mario Guzman is the new football coach at Cleveland. He replaces Peter Gunny, who resigned to focus on coaching the baseball program.

Jeff Reitz has resigned as football coach at Katella.

The era of the Herrington brothers coaching football at Hart has ended. Rick Herrington, who has coached for 46 years, has stepped down as head coach. Brother Mike, who has coached for 44 years, is also retiring.

Matt Poston has resigned as football coach at Tesoro. He began as an assistant in 2001, took over as head coach in 2013 and was well respected. He will continue as a math teacher.

After four years as head football coach at Burbank Burroughs, Jesse Craven has accepted the offer to become head coach at Westlake.

Justin Villasenor is the new football coach at Brea Olinda. He had been an assistant coach. . . .

Ron Jones is the new football coach at Pasadena. He’d been an assistant at Muir and Burroughs. His son, RJ, is a defensive back at UCLA. . . .

Ron Gladnick has been dismissed as football coach at San Diego St. Augustine.

Randall Reynoso has resigned as football coach at El Toro.
 
San Clemente defensive coordinator Fred Gambrell is the new football coach at Sunny Hills.

Hector Valencia is returning as football coach at Burbank High. He was head coach for five seasons, compiling a 37-20 record until resigning in 2014.
 
Jake Goossen-Brown has left Hueneme to become the football coach at Hart.

Matt Villasenor is the new football coach at Nogales.
 
Taft High School dismissed head football coach Fred Emmerson on Tuesday after one season with the program.

Emmerson said that he was called into a meeting Tuesday and was informed by assistant principal Jose Loza that he would no longer be the head coach because the school wanted to go in a different direction.

Rob Thompson is the new football coach at Saddleback.

Lanny Booher has resigned after 20 seasons as football coach at Anaheim.

Newport Harbor football coach Peter Lofthouse is expected to be officially hired as the new coach at El Toro this week.
 
Mike Zangl, a former JV coach at Tesoro, has been named the school’s football coach.

Matt Burns is the new football coach at Newport Harbor. He was previously defensive coordinator.

Nick Karavedas is the new football coach at Sonora. He has been director of admission at Aquinas after previously being head coach from 2012-2018. He was an assistant coach at Sunny Hills, where his son, Peter, is head coach.

Ryan Jacobson has resigned as football coach at Rowland.
 
Thomas Randolph is the new football coach at Taft. He was previously an assistant.

Eric Martinez is the new football coach at Valley View. He was previously head coach at Diamond Ranch.

Alex Morfin is the new football coach at Hueneme.

Laron Johnson has resigned as football coach at La Puente.
 
Henry Gonzales and Van Latham have been named co-coaches for the Carpinteria football program.

Joe Brown is the new football coach and athletic director at Covina.

Aaron Crone is the new football coach at Eastvale Roosevelt. He’s a former Roosevelt quarterback who takes over the program at the age of 30.

Steve Anderson has resigned as football coach at Westminster.

Don Cayer is out as football coach at Ganesha.

Former St. John Bosco quarterback Quentin Davis is the new offensive coordinator at Servite.
