By David A. Willauer-1-13-17-San Marcos High School-San Marcos, CA: In a battle of Avocado League Contenders the Knights of San Marcos led after 3 quarters by a 45-41 score but the Mavericks came on as Logan Wazny scored 24 points hit 6 treys in the ballgame and prevailed over the Knights on San Marcos home court by a 60-57 score as they improve their record to 13-4.
David Cassaw 18 years as head boys basketball coach at LaCosta Canyon: "It was a key win for our squad as we battled hard against a well coached San Marcos team." "After we were trailing our 3 pointers were the key of the game and I was pleased Logan Wazcy as he has helped us all season and continued to shoot treys and he's been a force for us has worked hard." My 400th win vs. an Arizona high school squad and told everyone that it wasn't a big of a deal for me as I focus on my team all the time but my parents and family were there I think about the journey for the 18 years. I feel good being 13-4 right now but we turn the page for our team and take the next step for the CIF Section Playoffs.
The Mavericks were also contributed were Christian Gallagher 9 points, Andrew Hogan 6 points, 7 each by Alec Peneschi and Graham Cook, 6 by Paul Carr.
The Knights of San Marcos were led y Kody Clouet with 17 points,9 by Cody Mathis, Wil Corbin with 5, 8 by Ryan Hagood, 4 by Zander Corbin, Elijan Randall with 7 and 2 by Conner Casebier
