Kaiser 69 Bloomington 6

Word is, many alumni, including those on campus, are disgusted with the hires that have been made since Markham left in 08. They say that they want one of their own running the show, not some outsider who (they perceive) doesn't know the community and culture.

I wonder how much of that has to do with the losing. If Bloomington were winning more would we hear the same grumblings?

I think it all has to do with the losing. It's still a very small town with many alumni that have attended games forever, they have seen the all of the winning in the past. Many of the alumni that played for or coached under Markham saw all of the winning first hand and want a guy in there that can replicate his success.

Who do they think they are going to get? Are there even alumni from Bloomington in the coaching ranks? And are they successful?

Jesse Ceniceros out at El Monte is a very very successful alumni that many people have mentioned. Artie Allen, an OC at Chaffey, is also a successful coach that has been mentioned. Damien Logan, an OC in Arizona, is another guy that I know has been suggested and applied but has been passed over a couple of times. Jose Tapia at Norte Vista. Ed Powell in Ogden UT. John Luna former Bloomington JV Co-Head coach. There are a number of qualified guys that fit the bill I think.

However, I think that they are committed to Coach Cronkite for the foreseeable future. He comes from a great coaching pedigree and just needs to get more time with the guys and on campus to recruit. He didn't get started with the team until like July so I am sure that factors in to the challenges they're having this year.
