From our Rivals Nebraska staff writers:

Orange Lutheran four-star quarterback TJ Lateef has emerged as the "top" target for Nebraska and he's set to make an official visit for the spring game. A source indicates the Huskers are well-positioned to secure his commitment sooner rather than later.

However, there are a few programs with QBs already committed that have Lateef as a contingency option. Colorado had Lateef on campus this week and the Buffaloes can offer something Nebraska can't: playing time, with Shedeur Sanders off to the NFL after the 2024 season.

Ultimately, Lateef's official visit could cement Nebraska as his destination, but this recruitment isn't necessarily open and shut.

Nebraska has also emerged as a top school for Warren four-star quarterback Madden Iamaleava, the younger brother of Tennessee QB Nico Iamaleava. Alabama and UCLA are two other programs in the mix.

The new UCLA staff in particular is making a big push to keep him on the West Coast. He's in the process of scheduling visits this spring and Nebraska's expected to get at least one.

Iamaleava's looking to wait till the summer to make a decision, while Lateef's timeline is a little more imminent. This could come down to who secures the spot first.
