A few observations:
1. J Serra over Calabasas by 28, the Lions look really good in a deep Trinity League.
2. Poly over Narbonne-the Gauchos with back to back loses to start their season after a state title.
3. Centennial over Orange Lutheran, Logan's squad is impressive as always.

After starting 3 games at QB for the Culver City Centaurs last year as a freshmen. Zevi Echaus' sophomore debut should be graded as an A. He passed for 462 yards and 6 TD's with no interceptions in the Centaurs 62-20 drubbing of West Torrance. It was 35-0 at the half. The team is loaded with talent around him and that helps. The Centaurs' Fresno State bound senior receiver Jahmal Glaspie had 5 receptions for 169 yards and 2 TD's. Almost as importantly the Centaur defense held West to just 64 yards passing with 2 interceptions and 102 yards on the ground for the whole game. It may be a down year for West so it remains to be seen just how good the Centaurs will be.
But in two weeks, a Division 7 playoff preview could be on tap when the Centaurs face Warren of Downey, coached by Raul Lara. Warren beat another Division 7 team, St. Anthony, 49-14 this week to open their 2018 campaign. Warren is considered to be among the top teams in Division 7.
But first, Culver City must focus on this week's game at home against Palos Verdes Peninsula. Peninsula gave Centaur's Ocean League foe, El Segundo, all they could handle last Friday, before losing 31-21. Peninsula was up 21-16 in the third quarter before El Segundo QB Matt Romero was able to score 2 4th quarter TD's for the comeback victory.
