The Culver City Centaurs played their best game so far this year against the North Torrance Saxons, beating them 42-7. North was only successful on 2 third down conversions and the Centaurs intercepted them twice. It is a big deal when the defense can be highlighted in recent years at Culver City. The offense was pretty much a juggernaut as usual. Senior QB Jonathan Martin had yet another 5 TD pass performance on 13 of 27 for 255 yards with no interceptions. Senior RB Brandon Oum added 106 rushing on just 5 carries, one of them being for 62 yards and a TD.

Next week the Centaurs (3-0) face LA City Division II University (2-2) on Thursday. Don't let their record fool you, they should not offer much resistance. The 2 wins are against vastly inferior opponents. Culver City is the most talented team that Uni will likely face all year. San Fernando does not rate out nearly as high as Culver and Uni lost to them 35-3. The strategy should be to dominate the game early so the back-ups can play most of the second half and rest some of the starters for the 3 game stretch to follow, starting with Dorsey. Then league starts against El Segundo, then Lawndale. How good the Centaurs are, will be determined during that 3 game stretch.
