This is an ongoing thread that will list coaching changes as we come across them (most will be per Eric Sondheimer, LA Times):

Izabella Om and Camryn Hamaguchi have been named the co-head coaches for Fountain Valley’s girls’ basketball team.

Former college coach Jody Wynn is expected to replace Kevin Kiernan as girls’ basketball coach at Mater Dei. An official announcement will come this week. She was an assistant last season and has a daughter on the team.

Jon Sampang is the new girls’ basketball coach at Heritage Christian.

Vince DeGuzman is the new girls’ basketball coach at Village Christian.

Kyle Rouse is the new girls basketball coach at Crean Lutheran. He was head coach Westcliff University, an NAIA team.

Josh Burresch is the new girls basketball coach at La Habra. Monrovia has hired Remy Hare to be the girls basketball coach.

Northview has let go girls’ basketball coach Danny Silva.

Mia Moore is the new girls’ basketball coach at El Camino Real, her alma mater.

Camille Buckley is the new girls’ basketball coach at Diamond Bar.

Some recent player moves:

Chasity Rice, who averaged 6.8 points as a freshman for Mater Dei’s girls’ basketball team, has transferred to defending state champion Etiwanda.

Freshman guard Kayla Rice from Dana Hills is transferring to JSerra, according to OCVarsity.com. She averaged 20.3 points last season.

Girls basketball will get a boost with the arrival of 6-foot-6 freshman Sydney Douglas at Etiwanda. She’s the next star in the making.

Former Glendora star Cameron Murray is the new girls’ basketball coach at Claremont.

Paul Edwards has resigned after six years as girls’ basketball coach at San Juan Hills.

Melissa Hearlihy, who has the second-most wins in state history for girls basketball, is retiring after 39 years of coaching, Harvard-Westlake announced Monday. No replacement has yet been made.

Hearlihy coached at Harvard-Westlake for 24 years and last season led the team to a CIF state title.

Coach Matt Tumambing of Ontario Christian has resigned. He led the team to five straight undefeated league titles and a 140-22 record. The big question is what does the coaching change mean for Kaleena Smith, who was one of the top freshmen in the nation last season.

Ontario Christian has promoted assistant coach Aundre Cummings to head coach of the girls’ basketball program. He’s the stepfather to sophomore standout Kaleena Smith.

Per Haley Sawyer, Daily News:

David Rebibo has been named interim program head for the Harvard-Westlake girls basketball team and Alex Nailes will take on the role of interim head coach for the girls team, the school announced Thursday afternoon.

Wolverines girls basketball coach Melissa Hearlihy announced her retirement from coaching on Aug. 5 after spending 24 years at Harvard-Westlake.

Rebibo will continue as the program head and head coach for the school’s boys basketball team during the 2024-25 season.

The school will conduct a search for a permanent program head for girls basketball at the end of the season.
