Oregon has an interesting take on targets who reclassify, like DE Richard Wesley, TE Mark Bowman, and CB Havon Finney Jr.

Per the Rivals' Oregon staff:

More and more elite recruits are reclassifying to earlier graduating classes, giving up their senior year of high school to get a jumpstart on college life. It's a growing strategy with clear upside, but it's not without risks. The key is figuring out which players are truly ready—and which ones just look ready.

Three such CA prospects stand out on Oregon’s radar: Richard Wesley (DE), Mark Bowman (TE), and Havon Finney Jr. (CB). All three have the talent to make an early impact, but each also represents a different version of the reclassification equation.

Some coaching changes

Damaine Powell has resigned after four seasons as basketball coach at Loyola. He said he wants to take a break from coaching. Two of his sons will be Loyola students in the fall.

It opens a position that should receive lots of interest. Former Loyola basketball coach Jamal Adams is the new school president. The first choice would be former Loyola star Ryan Bailey, the head coach at Brentwood, but Bailey is unlikely to leave a school where he has family members attending and lots of top players returning.

Devin Fly has resigned as boys basketball coach at Newbury Park.

Coaching changes

Ruben Marin of St. Bonaventure has retired after 14 years as coach. He leaves as the all-time winningest coach in school history recording 222 wins.

Adam Levine has resigned after seven seasons as girls basketball coach at Palisades. The Dolphins won three City titles.

Myles Guy is the new girls basketball coach at Moorpark.

Kevin Kiernan will become head coach at Troy

Per the LA Times:

In what may have been the biggest news of the week, the winningest girls’ basketball coach in California, Kevin Kiernan, is retiring as athletic director at Mater Dei to return to coaching. He will become head coach at Troy, where he had a successful 11-year run.

He stepped down as girls basketball coach at Mater Dei after 17 years as coach in 2024. He’s won 12 Southern Section titles and six state titles.

Oklahoma is nervous about holding on to St. John Bosco WR Daniel Odom's commitment...

Here's the latest from Rivals' Oklahoma recruiting gurus:

"All right, folks... let's start with the not-so-fortunate news. I like to think I'm a pretty straight shooter when it comes to wavering pledges; I told y'all last year that Cortez Mills and Kevin Sperry were goners and that Courtland Guillory would stick despite his visit to Texas.

So in all candor, I will tell you that I don't feel great about the Sooners' chances to hold on to Daniel Odom. The blue-chip wideout from Cali is in the process of scheduling several visits, including OV's, to several schools other than Oklahoma. The Sooners will still get him in town for a ChampU BBQ official, but it may be too little and too late by that time.

You will ask if this has anything to do with Jaden O'Neal, and I will tell you that I don't favor OU's chances to keep Odom in the fold regardless of the outcome with O'Neal. Odom's commitment was out of left field in the first place, which is always cause for skepticism as to whether it'll hold.

I'm not saying the kid is two feet out the door just yet, but you'd be well advised to adjust expectations accordingly.
