Per CIF press release:
CATHEDRAL HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PROGRAM PLACED ON PROBATION
LOS ALAMITOS, CA – Due to violations of CIF Bylaws, the Cathedral High School (Los Angeles) football program has been placed on probationary status, effective immediately.
A school being placed on probationary status means the school is ineligible to participate in the 2023-2024 CIF Southern Section Football Championship playoffs.
Cathedral High School may request reinstatement to full participate in football for the 2024- 2025 school year by August 23, 2024. Relevant bylaws regarding this decision are the following:
CIF Bylaw 202A, 202B(5), Valid Residential Change
CIF Bylaws 503, 503A, 503B, Administrative Oversight
CIF Southern Section Bylaws 3511.A and 3511.C, Playoff Eligibility
