League starts this week. Do we see a clear front runner for the division title?
A few statements were made in non league as well as a few disappointments.
The division this year didn't fair so well in non league. WVD for the most part were handled by their bigger brother, the Pac 5.
There were also surprising defeats to those division teams, who a WVD team should not lose to.

1. (1) Tesoro (5-1) Tesoro rolled to a 59-38 victory over a favored San Clemente to solidify its claim as a top WVD team. The Titans first 2 league games are their toughest league opponents. This week their @ El Toro (5-1)

2. (3) Chino Hills (4-1) CH cruised to an easy 48-0 win at Victor Valley. This game was decidedly done in the first quarter. This weeks opponent will a little bit better than V V. Next: Rancho Cucamonga (3-2)

3.(4) Mission Viejo ( 4-2) Mission handled Chaparral, 31 -11 for its fourth straight win. In 2 weeks is the big game, this week its @ Dana Hills (1-5)

4. (5) Upland (3-2) Upland had a bye to prepare for Damien (3-2) We think Upland makes a statement to welcome Damien to the Baseline.

5. (7) Hart (3-2) Hart had a bye to prepare for rival Canyon (2-3) Hart should be a heavy favorite and win, but with rivalry games....

6. (8) El Toro (5-1) After posting a close win over Trabuco Hills the previous week, the Chargers, came out and whacked lowly Bell Gardens 52-7., behind division passing leader Trey Tinsley's 409 yards and 5 TD passes. It's not going to be so easy this week. Next: #1 Tesoro (5-1)

7. (9) Vista Murrieta (3-2) Ugh...for ugly. that's how VM been winning. This past week the broncos came out with a tough 15-13 win over an ok at best SD section St. Augustine team. Could this weeks game determine the league championship? Next: Great Oak (4-1)

8. (nr) Great Oak (4-1) Didn't look past Summit, winning 42-21. Is GO ready for the Prime Time Players? History tells us no. Next: @ # 7 Vista Murrieta (3-2)

9. (2) Los Al (4-1) Los Al went into Harbor City with a ton of confidence and came out with a loss, 30-26. This week will give us an idea on how the Sunset plays out. Next: Fountain Valley (4-1)

10. (6) Valencia (3-2) Valencia hosted CC on Thursday night and found out what a track meet looks like, losing to CC 72-42. No worries, the Vikes should get well in the next as their schedule gets much easier in league. Next: Golden Valley (3-2)

others:

Rancho Cucamonga (3-2) RC is coming off of a 31-24 loss to La Serna. They had better be prepared this week. @ #2 Chino Hills
Fountain Valley (4-1) This week tells what FV is all about. Next: Los Al
Edison (3-2) Lost their last two to Servite and Mater Dei. gets a break and opens league with Marina (0-5)

Doc,

That is definitely a rough opener for Rancho. The same could be said with Damien, who very well could get waxed by Upland on Friday.

I hope Rancho spanks Chino Hills.

Word is that a certain daddy of a player that left Upland because he did not want to compete, has been talking trash about Salter "making the biggest mistake of his life" by letting his kid leave.

Not sure how he figures that was Salter's decision?

I'm not even going to say anything about the HGH, other than this kid is way bigger than his twin brother.
