Per an email we received from a La Jolla Country Day spokesperson:
The La Jolla Country Day school's talented twin guards, Maya and Malina Hood narrowed down the recruiting process and picked University of San Diego as their future home. The 5’10” Hood twins are elite level explosive athletes who play bigger than their listed height… they have the ability to make plays around the rim, get through passing lanes, and knock down perimeter jumpers. The twins were a dominate force this summer helping their team, La Jolla Country Day-Wiggins Waves (La Jolla, Calif.) win two tournament championships - the July 14-17 San Diego Classic Elite Division title and The Best of Maryland tournament. Maya had the honor of being named MVP of the San Diego Elite Classic Tournament, while Malina was recognized for her outstanding perimeter performance at the Best of Maryland Tournament. Both twins were named to the All- Tournament Team at the Nike EOT and USJN/Nike 17u National Championship.
