I was surprised at the Etiwanda score. Damien gave up too many points the last few games after a great start to the season.

Is it now done by seedings ? Highest seed gets homefield throughout ?

It's all coin flips. Here's what the CIF-SS website says, "Coin flips will be announced on the CIF website according to the following schedule: Second round-Oct. 29 at 1:00 p.m., Semifinal round-Nov. 4 at 9:00 a.m., Final round-Nov. 11 at 9:00 a.m. "
If you check out the updated brackets on the website, it indicates who is the home team for the second round. Those coin flips have already been done.

How'd you know Rancho would get a semifinal home game? I can't find coin flip results on the CIS-SS website, which is mighty difficult to navigate. Round two I found by looking at the updated brackets.

I haven't analysed this enough but now it looks like some teams are automatically designated the home team, probably because they lost previous coin flip(s).

I don't think home and away ever changed from the old model, if you have fewer home games then you're at home otherwise coin flip
