3 touchdown passes by Kreet Makihele paces San Marcos in win
By David A. Willauer-Contributing Writer-Saturday, November 2, 2024-Knights Stadium-San Marcos High School-San Marcos, CA: The Knights of San Marcos improve their record to 9-1 on the season as they defeated the Knights of Del Norte at 6-4 by a 27-21 score.
Knights qb Kreet Makihele threw for 222 yards and 3 touchdowh passes to Colton Willard 18 yards receiving, Caleb Reese 62 yards receiving along with a 41 yard touchdown reception and Jase Nix for 1 touchdown of 85 yards. CJ Williams rushed the ball for 24 yards and scored on a 10 yard touchdown run.
Tom Carroll San Marcos Head Football Coach: "Kreet Mekihele was the best quarterback that I have been around, is an outstanding quarterback and has the tools to run the offense right down the field." "Running Back CJ Williams is also an outstanding athlete and ran the ball well ." "I give credit to our offensive line on making key blocks for us throughout the game." "Del Norte hung in near the end of the game as they battled well on the gridiron."
Nighthawks qb Diesel Taylor threw for 243 yards along with a 7 yard pass to Caden Barnett (2 receptions for 13 yards) the son of Head Coach for Del Norte Nick Barnett, 50 yards to Chase Jurgens 64 yards rushing and 1 touchdown run of 50 yards and 5 yards to Trey White who recorded 67 yards receiving.
