From our Rivals Ohio Statestaff:

Ohio State is in the midst of a countrywide search to find its 2026 quarterback but after Thursday's camp it's possible that the Buckeyes have already found their 2027 passer.

Brady Edmunds, a 6-foot-5, 185-pound right-hander from Huntington Beach (Calif.) was absolutely impressive on Thursday. The ball jumps off his hand and he has a very clean, quick release and those skills were primary among the reasons he was offered by Chip Kelly on Thursday.

Beyond the physical tools, what struck me about Edmunds was just how comfortable in his own skin he is. That's rare for a young player just one year through high school, especially in a big place like Ohio State. That comfort is the result of camping in Columbus last year and this year and the budding relationship with Chip Kelly and Ryan Day.

Couple those connections with the confidence he has in his game and it's easy to see why Edmunds is worth paying attention to moving forward. So much in fact that I'd be surprised if he's not the Buckeyes 2027 quarterback.

Maybe not anytime real soon but the connection that has already grown, if it grows exponentially, it may be hard for any other team to beat. Edmunds grandfather is from Northeast Ohio and the family is full of Ohio State fans—ironic considering he's named at Tom Brady because his grandfather moved to the Boston area as a youngster and loves the Patriots—and that includes the young quarterback himself. When he was entering the eighth grade, Edmunds crafted a personal "to-do" list for himself that serves as the wallpaper on his phone.

There are 10 bullet points on that list and No. 7 on it is simple: commit to Ohio State.

Now he has that chance.

2026 LB Tristan Phillips (Ventura) and 2026 CB Jayden Crowder (Santa Margarita) also were impressive.
