Players suspended for smashing into official

ICYMI, two Texas defensive players purposely blindsided a backfield official. They have been suspended and the worst may not be over for them:

Two years ago in the Salt Lake area a teen playing soccer punched a ref he was mad at. The ref died and the kid ended up pleading guilty to manslaughter.

Do a Google search and you'll see this happens more than you would expect across the nation. Hopefully these thugs will be charged with assault.

appalling really.
the two kids who were involved...gone. Suspended for the rest of the season.
and if there was a coach involved...
I think the players said the ref made a racial slur prior to the play

Yeah doc, I saw a blurb in the LA Times this morning that mentioned the racial slurs the players say the referee directed at them. The school district also put an assistant coach on paid leave while it "investigates allegations that he suggested there should be retaliation against the referee for missed calls."
