Great question Lights Out,this year is definitely an anomaly in terms of draft talent from the Southland.
This should be the first year since 2015 that a Southern California High School player isn't drafted in the first round. Last year had Sam Darnold and Josh Rosen, 2017 had John Ross and Adoree Jackson, while Kenny Clark was drafted in the first round in 2016.
The highest projected drafted player with Southern California ties is Hollywood Brown of Oklahoma, the wideout from the state of Florida spent a pair of seasons at College of the Canyons before starring in Norman.
I stopped reading ESPN"s draft able prospects ranking at pick 254, the final pick of the draft. They project the top guy drafted a California High School to be from the North. 17th ranked is Alabama's OT Jonah Williams of Folsom.
The first Southern California HS guy ranked is number 58 Michigan DB David Long of Loyola. 94th is Stanford OLB Bobby Okereke of Foothill of Santa Ana. 102nd is San Jose State tight end Josh Oliver of Paso Robles. Crespi and USC safety Marvell Tell is ranked 120th. La Habra/Washington DT Greg Gaines is ranked 143rd. Serra/UCLA TE Caleb Wilson is ranked 182nd,Long Beach Poly/USC DB Iman Marshall is ranked 199th.
I could have easily missed some but I'll update this throughout the weekend.
