From our Rivals' Ohio State writers:

"Ohio State has tried for years to land a commitment from Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) High School and is trying its best to land Jordan Davison, the country's No. 1-ranked running back in the Class of 2025, right now.

Perhaps it'll be easier to win those battles when the Buckeyes take a commitment to Mater Dei?

We'll see if that works as Chris Henry Jr., a five-star 2026 wide receiver who played the last two seasons in Cincinnati, has announced that he'll be transferring to California and playing for the Monarchs moving forward.

Henry left Withrow High School last month and there was widespread speculation about his potential landing spot but now he'll get a chance to develop in one of the nation's elite programs surrounded by elite recruits.

Davison is set to visit Ohio State at the end of March on a four-day visit to Columbus. When he gets back he'll have one of the country's best receiver prospects in his ear to talk all about the Buckeyes with.

That can't be a bad thing for Ohio State's Mater Dei endeavors.
