Congratulations
are in order for Ryan Smith, 6'11, 2013 (Cal Lutheran HS) as he decided today to
sign with Tulane University. Many schools including Davidson (today), Colorado
State, and a few others in the mix. I think the upside on this young man is
incredible. One of my all time favorite Icemen kids. Worked on everything I told
him to and realized early that you have to put in the work to get the reward.
Playing in the Top Events, working on his Daily Drills, getting stronger,
listening to any coach that told him something. Because of young men like him I
ended up continuing coaching this year (really thought about stopping this
year).

A
side note to Coaches...Man, Don't ever give up on your Big Boys! Bigs take
longer. We have all been guilty of it! Play the big boys early (Frosh/Soph) and
live with their limitations, the Rewards are there if your willing to invest.
Last year no one knew who Ryan was, it Literally all started to come together
this year. They don't get better on the bench. What a terrific
relationship Coach Dave Peter (Cal Lutheran HS) and I have. Amazing how much can
get done when No one takes the credit, No one had an ego, No one worried about
anything but the player.

Sincerely,

Coach
