Former NBA Coach Don Casey Added as Showcase Clinician

Longtime NBA coach Don Casey will be among the instructors at the Icemen Basketball Showcase camp Sunday (Aug. 11) at Wildomar Cal Lutheran, coach and coordinator Todd Malecki confirmed.
Casey, who started coaching high school in New Jeresey, was the head coach of both the Los Angeles Clippers and New Jersey Nets. He also served as an assistant coach with the Chicago Bulls (1982-83) and Boston Celtics (1990-96). Before jumping to the NBA, Casey was the head coach at Temple University from 1973-82.
Malecki wrote on the Icemen Facebook page that Casey will serve as a "skills clinician" at the camp, which is designed for all incoming and current high school players.
The event is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It will include instruction, competition and evaluations, which will be sent to colleges.
Cal Lutheran is located at 31970 Central Ave. in Wildomar.
Cost is $85 in advance, $90 at the door.
