Dave Kleckner Resigns at Etiwanda

Legendary Etiwanda basketball coach Dave Kleckner was in the news Sunday night when news broke that he has resigned from his position. Kleck has won 562 games-186. His tough man to man defense and dominance in the Baseline League and area is notable in his tenure. My favorite of his teams were the ones with a pair of NBA players in Darren Collison and Jeff Pendergraph/Ayres.

I remember the memorable matchup between Collison and Jordan Farmar in the CIF regional playoffs won by Etiwanda at Taft HS.

Did he resign to retire or did he resign to take another in Cali or back in his home state of Illinois? I am sure he is a very hot commodity for any high school wanting a great program!
