5th seed Classical Academy ends top seed Fallbrook High's Season in Boys Basketball Semi's

Willauer-Contributing Writer-Fallbrook High School-Fallbrook, CA-February 26, 2020-In a Division V Boys Basketball semi final round, the 5th seed Caimans from Classical Academy improve their record at 20-8 as they ride a 7 game winning streak, ended the #1 seed Fallbrook Warriors season at 18-9 along with snapping a 5 game winning streak prevailed by a 50-44 score.
The last time these 2 schools met during the regular season December 14th on the Warriors Home Court where Classical Academy prevailed 53-48.
Classical Academy Head Coach Chris Williams: "We stuck to our game plan and told the kids what responsibilities we go over and they showed what they did tonight and found a way to win." "Maximus Brown who is my all around player has performed very well for us both on offense and defense, handling the ball as he did well on the court." The last time we played Fallbrook was similar of the same game but it's hard to beat the same team over and over when the players know each other and Fallbrook has missed lots of shots along with a lot of turnovers, they're a talented squad and played well, it's good to get the win."
Scoring: Pressley Brusholter led Classical Academy with 14. Maximus Brown contributed with 11.
Fallbrook Cooper Sherman led with 20 points as he sank 4 treys and Warriors teammate Joel Calhoun contributed with 18.
This is Classical Academy's First Time in the Division V CIF Finals in school history where they will be another Escondido School Calvin Christian Christian. These two schools played during the regular season as Calvin Christian 47-37 on Classical Academy's Gym and at Calvin Christian's Gym by a 43-38 score.
In the other semi final game that was played at Mar Vista High, the 3rd seed Crusaders of Calvin Christian defeated the 2nd seed Mariners of Mar Vista at 19-11 by a 60-45 score. Martin Gumwell led with 27 points and 23 by teammate Brandon Nelson. This is Calvin Christian's 3rd trip to the CIF Division V finals the last time they made appearances was 2005 and 2007.
