Kiah Reid Keys Miracle El Camino To Division II CIF San Diego Section Football Title

Willauer-Contributing Writer-Devore Stadium-Southwestern College-Chula Vista, CA-11-29-19-The El Camino who were seeded 7th in the CIF are known for pulling big surprises, upsets and miracles in the 2019 San Diego CIF Football Tournament with wins over 2nd seed San Pasqual Eagles 42-21 in the quarter finals, 3rd seed Vista Panthers 35-21 in the semi final round but in the championship round that was held at Southwestern College in Chula Vista, CA, the "Miracle" Camino Wildcats at 8-6 went against a high powered Bishop School from LaJolla, CA, trailed 59-36 as quarterback Kiah Reid rushing (10 carries for 65 yards scored on a 21 yarder passing 12 completions out of 18 attempts for 285 yards) pulled out his magic as scored 1 touchdown run for 19 yards along with 3 touchdown passes 2 to Jacob Gathright 2 receptions for 51 yards scored 1 touchdown reception for 19 yards to tie the game at 59-59 and the game winner for 32 yards to go up 67-59, 1 pass to Alex Fetko (6 receptions for 200 yards 2 touchdowns receptions of 26 and 38 yards, Zion Jackson 7 carries for 109 yards (1st touchdown on a 28 yarder) as he scored on a 7 yard run defeated the previously undefeated Knights of Bishop's School in a high scoring 75-59

"I attribute tonight's game to all of the players they came out in the second half and have the confidence to win the game." "After trailing 59-36 Kiah Reid make good plays at quarterback along with the offensive line as they protected the offense, he (Kiah Reid) made nice reads and our offense took care of the game"
"On our last two touchdowns for the win our kids had the energy at the point of the game as they kept on battling and knew they got this game." "Our squad never believed it was a miracle they believe they could win during the season but we had some tough losses during the season at the very end of the contest, it prepared us on how to win contests, during the contests we lost 3 different games on the last play that were key Avocado League losses but those games set us up for the playoffs." said Coach Hobbs

Tyler Buckner 18 carries for 350 yards scored 5 touchdowns rushing and passing 20 completions out of 47 attempts for 286 yards, Clarence Freeman 6 receptions for 114 yards 1 touchdown Chase Ladrido 6 receptions for 59 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Bishop School suffers their first defeat after winning winning 12 in a row and finish their season at 12-1.
