Christian Collins acknowledged that he’s been contacted by the UCLA staff but at the moment his mother is helping him handle his recruitment so he and his mother have declined to offer any specifics.
But here’s what I do know about him:
He used to play at St. Bernard with the son of Bruins assistant coach Rod Palmer, who was always in attendance when UCLA wasn’t playing on the road. It’s the same team that had Tajh Ariza, who also is now at Westchester.
Both are now at Westchester because former St. Bernard head coach and ex-USC assistant Tony Bland is now back at the Division I level and an assistant at Washington.
Collins was among the standouts at the Pangos All-American camp recently.
