We caught a little action in the Invitational Division on Saturday.

T.S.I.N. Gold 55, The Truth 29

Jacqui Marshall and Melissa Zornig led TSIN to an easy win in the opener for both teams. TSIN beat Swoosh Gold 58-47 later in the day to take Pool B. The Truth lost to Pacific Fury 45-30 to finish pool play.

Hoop 4 Life Black 59, BBG 38

This game was closer than the score makes it look. BBG came out strong and looked dominant. Then the roof fell in as H4L ran off 16 straight points to lead 23-14. It was 27-18 at the half and BBG stayed fairly close for much of the second half until H4L exploded to the finish with a big run. BBG has a legitimate star in Gennifer Brandon, who needs a little more polish and she'll be unstoppable. H4L has an intriguing new player in Betina Chateau who is from France and is just beginning her career in the U.S. She'll be attending Santa Monica high school and is someone to watch. She's got both size and athleticism, but needs to be a little more aggressive.

Cal Sparks Gold went on to beat Hoop 4 Life, 58-44 to take Pool A. BBG knocked off Nevada Elite 49-44.

San Fernando Valley Jaguars 45, C.H.A. 40

The Jags played okay the first half but were a little sluggish so coach Charles White had them run a little at halftime. They took charge in the second half and held off a late CHA rally to win. They've got a solid nucleus in Monica Jackson and Rmanii Haynes but got plenty of help from Nicole Hicks and Samantha Seals. Cal Storm Elite beat them 64-58 to take Pool C. CHA lost to LA Swish Red in its next game.

Other Pool winners:

D: West Coast Premiere Inland Empire
E: LA Swish Gold
