Wow - new Bowl format passed by CIF for this Fall

A new bowl format will begin this fall in the CIF for football.
By a vote of 71-64, the CIF state Federated Council approved the measure on Friday.
It means all 51 section champions from around the state will be invited to play in regional bowl games. This past year, only 18 participated. It means all three City Section champions from Division I, II and III will play in bowl games.
The Southern Section, the largest section in the state, opposed the measure.
There will be 13 divisions matched by competitive equity and the championship games will be played throughout the state.

3 SoCal Teams Traveling North to De La Salle This Fall

A trio of Southern California football teams will travel to Concord to play De La Salle this fall. Orange Lutheran will come up in week 3, Servite in week 4, and Long Beach Poly in week 7. DLS left their league a few years ago so they have the freedom to pick and choose who they play. Their schedule is very good with what could be a top 5 national team with tons of returners especially on offense.

Elite QB Malik Henry is leaving Westlake

Per Jack Pollon, Daily News/Californiapreps contributor:

The fallout from Westlake continues as quarterback Malik Henry announced on Twitter today (see link below) that he will be transferring to IMG Academy in Florida, which is roughly 300 miles away from his future college, Florida State. His father Marchell confirmed the news via text.
Henry, a five-star recruit, committed to the Seminoles in November. He's also the second football player to transfer following Marques Evans in the wake of former coach Jim Benkert leaving to become co-head coach at Oaks Christian
All eyes continue to watch to see who will stay or go at Westlake. backup quarterback Grant Bunker, a junior, filled in admirably for Henry in passing for a school record five touchdowns against Paraclete this season.

Please read! Important maintenance (log in) alert

To avoid any site overload like the one last year, Rivals has been preparing for the football National Signing Day for quite a few months and
has been "stress-testing" and "load-balancing" the Rivals network throughout the midnight hours recently. This has led
to some occasional stability errors as any bugs are worked out.

A critical test tonight (Friday) will focus on site security. Every single Rivals subscriber will be automatically logged out at[/B]
10 p.m. PT. Every single user will then be required to log back in with their username and password that
they are registered with - as they would normally log in on any day.

That should be the only issue anyone will experience.
Since the Call Center will be closed, users who have log-in issues beyond new Passwords can
email Subscriptions@Rivals.com for immediate remedy. That email will be monitored closely for prompt
support help.

Thank you for your patience, we're working hard to ensure the best possible product.

Also, look for major upgrades soon to the message boards. I've participated in the beta version and lots of cool features are on the way.
